Sometimes it’s fun to cook with someone, especially when it’s your significant other. Of course there are dozens of dishes that are easy to cook together, and for those who need ideas, A Couple Cooks: 100 Recipes to Cook Together, by Sonja and Alex Overhiser, is a perfect cookbook to find them.

The cookbook starts off with great information and hints on dividing up the cooking, and makes it seem easy to do. Then the book introduces mouthwatering dishes that any couple will love to not only cook together, but eat. The recipes have nuances of Mediterranean, Asia, Europe, Mexican, and American *, and are mostly fancy or gourmet types of dishes. Many (not all, which is unfortunate) are accompanied by beautiful, professional photographs that make the mouthwatering dishes stand out.

The recipes are written in the traditional manner with the ingredients listed first, followed by step-by-step instructions, which make it easy for both beginning and advanced cooks to turn out picture perfect dishes. There are also hints and tips that are helpful throughout the cookbook. Many of the dishes are easy to make, and some are a bit trickier, but definitely worth it. Some of the recipes call for special ingredients, which need to be picked up at gourmet stores.

All told, this is an excellent cookbook both for couple cooking together, or for anyone who loves to cook.
